JAMB 2020 Registration has Officially begun

JAMB 2020 Registration has officially begun. Although full publication on the 2020 registration is yet to be released at this time, JAMB has emphasized that the first thing every candidate must do before they go to get their e-Pin for registration, is to get their PROFILE CODE. We have outlined how to do this below. JAMB has Suspended Compulsory Use of NIN For 2020 UTME/DE Registration. However, ONLY ONE mobile number can be used by one candidate to register for the 2020 exam.

PROFILE CODE REGISTRATION
  1. One Cell (mobile) number (SIM) can be used by one candidate only. The Cell phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the Candidate’s name and will be used in all communications related to his/her 2019 Application, Examination/Admission. NOTE THE SIM-NUMBER USED. IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATION
  2. Candidate sends his/her name [Surname First-Name Middle- Name (if any)] by text (SMS) to 55019. This should be maximum of 38 characters + 2 spaces between names = 40 characters in all to 55019 e.g Hamza Uche Bankole. Surname and first name are mandatory
  3. A Profile Code of 10 characters is received by the candidate on the same telephone (SIM) number
  4. Candidate presents the profile code to the point of procurement of form (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners). The form- ePIN is then sent as text message to the candidate
  5. Candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for registration

SELF HELP IN CASE OF MISTAKE/LOSS OF PROFILE CODE
  1. To correct a mistake in candidate’s name, send the [CORRECT Surname First-Name Middle-Name] to 55019 as a text message from the same mobile number
  2. To retrieve a lost Profile Code, send [RESEND] to 55019 as text message from the same mobile number
  3. Candidate can reset lost or forgotten Profile Password on their registered cell phone by sending [password] space [email address] to 55019 as a text message from the same mobile number
The PROFILE CODE is what will be required for you to purchase the 2020 UTME/DE registration e-pin.
The registration is set to commence today, 13th January.

WARNINGS:
1. JAMB has warned that you should not give your password to any person, not even JAMB.
2. Do not take register twice. This also means you should not take UTME and DE for the same year. If required, you will be able to upgrade your UTME to DE at no cost.
3. If there is an error during the registration process, only seek correction from JAMB.
4. UTME and DE registration close on the same date, and there will be no extension.

Official Price/Cost of JAMB for 2020 UTME are as follows;
UTME/DE form is N3,500
Reading text is N500

JAMB speaks on how to get UTME PIN, profile code, sale of forms and others

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says the date for the sales of its registration documents for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) still stands, despite the suspension of the NIN.

The Board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, who disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, said that the process for the acquisition of the PIN remained the same.

He said aside the now suspended use of National Identification Number (NIN) by the board’s management, all other process remain the same.

He emphasized that candidates desirous to sit for the examination should send their surname, first and middle names in that order to 55019 for their UTME PIN and profile code.

He said portal for the registration was expected to be activated on Monday, Jan. 13, the day for the commencement of the sales of the documents.

“Candidates are advised to use one unique telephone number that will be tied to him or her. Those who have also registered for the examination before now should still use the same telephone number to get their UTME PIN.

“We are looking forward to a seamless registration exercise as all logistics to ensure its success have been fully deployed to the various registration centres.

“We will stick to the registration window or calendar as agreed by other examination bodies because they equally have their own examination schedules and will not want a clash.

“To this end, therefore, we also want to implore candidates for Directed Entry to commence the process same day as those for the UTME, as it will close the same day,” he said.

Meanwhile, Benjamin stated that it has come to the notice of the board that a large number of candidates who had been offered admission for the 2019 UTME were yet to accept it.

“We also discovered that some candidates are mistaking such acceptance as being the one put in place by their universities of choice.

“We want to make it clear that clicking ‘accept’ on JAMB’s portal does not attract any fee.
“It is free. Just go to profile on the admission menu and click ‘accept’ and then go ahead to print your admission letter.

“We therefore call on all candidates that have been offered these admissions to do the needful as we round off the process for the 2019 admission on Feb. 17,” he said.
